A whale-inspired propulsion system

WaveDrive consists of an hydrofoil attached to the stern of the ship through a set of mechanical arms. It uses wave and swell-induced vessel motion as the primary energy source, and actively converts this motion into controlled propulsive force.

WaveDrive can be deployed across all ocean-going vessel types : container ships, LNG carriers, oil and chemical tankers, bulk carriers, general cargo ships, roro vessels.

Our systems operate alongside the main engines,
deliver net propulsive thrust to the vessel,
and work in normal commercial operating conditions.

They are designed first for retrofit,
compatible with existing vessel architectures,
and conceived with a clear path toward deeper integration over time.
